301 Moved Permanently. Aug 19, 2014 I am working on a site that utilizes an Alerton Apex control system with TX-SA unit controllers. These controllers are controlling heat pumps in each zone. End of Product Life Cycle – Alerton Ibex
At the end of December 2013, Alerton will be ceasing support for a number of products within the Ibex range.
They will be ending production and support of the Microset wall sensor, Tux 16160, APLC, Tux 635P, SA Tux and VAV tux. In addition Tux 450 will only be available while stocks last.
A number of products have already been made obsolete.
What does this mean?
If you have an existing Ibex system, we will continue to support your installation to the best of our abilities. After these products become unavailable, we may have access to reconditioned equipment.
Finally after our in house stocks are exhausted, we will assist in integrating new equivalent equipment.

Will this affect my building?
To begin, we should have sufficient in house stocks to maintain your building to the same standards of service we have always provided.
As stocks diminish and equipment becomes harder to come by, it may take longer to source replacement parts in the event of a failure.
As stocks become unavailable, and we have to supply equivalent equipment, the integration into the control system may require additional installation time and cost. This may include an element of rewiring, as the new equipment requires a different network type.
What can I do to prevent issues?

We would recommend a planned upgrade from the Ibex controls to a modern control system before equipment failure. We can provide a detailed upgrade proposal that can be planned into upcoming budgets.

As each site is different, we would recommend getting in touch with our teams to discuss your needs.
I have 16 vav boxes like the one showed in the pic mounted in stand alone ; i.e that there is no communication bus, each zone have a tc642 vav box control hooked up to a thermostat and controls a belimo 3 wire 24 vav actuator and only one output is used for the electric heat fan coil Relay. The rooftop unit hooked up to that system is controlled by an alerton tx653 controller; the inputs onthe main controller are return and supply temperature; pressure switch and main stat sensor and set point. The outputs are 2 stage cooling, one 0-10vac for SCR electric heat, one for by-pass damper and one for ventilation. I have four of those vav boxes pcb that are of different brands(prolon and staefa); as I said it is a stand alone pattern. I was thinking of finding four alerton vav box controllers(tc642) to replace the staefa and prolon controllers and link all the 16 boxes together with a bus comm all the way up to the main controller(tx653). I am thinking that the main controller would perform better with all the vav boxes communicating; by adding automatic changeover capabilities and better control of rooftop unit by controlling with an average demand instead of controlling only by return and supply temperature . Are there any real advantages to this and are those parts still available. Is the tc642 an alerton part or not? Alerton support is the worst I be seen and I am not sure but I think the box controllers are now model # tx-vav.... I am not a control specialist but i would like your input on this matter; thanks in advance!
