1. Open the SoundFlower installation package file.

Note: After installation, if you have deleted the file, we suggest installing it again.

2. Once installed, double-click and run Uninstall SoundFlower.scpt file in the DMG file. Or Can head to the SoundFlower folder look for Uninstall SoundFlower.scpt > right-click > Open.

3. You will now see a new window here; click the Play icon as highlighted in the screenshot below.

This will run the uninstallation script; once done, you will see Done. This means SoundFlower is gone forever from your Mac.

To apply all the changes, restart Mac, and then try to use the default sound settings.

2. Uninstalling SoundFlower Manually

  1. Quit SoundFlower. Right-click its icon present in the Dock > Quit
  2. Next, head to the Applications folder, look for SoundFlower > right-click > Move to the Trash.
  3. Afterward, head to Macintosh Hd > private > var > db > receipts
  4. Here you will see files related to SoundFlower. Select them and move to trash.
  5. Make sure you Empty trash after this and restart the system.

I am still using it on my older, late 2009, 27 inch screen iMac, running both OS X Mountain Lion and OS X Mavericks to power an older, no longer available sound enhancement app.

I am not sure if Soundflower still works with new Macs running the new macOS Sierra, though.


The problem is no developer website to download this from and you can't trust any other download sites to download it from.
